You gotta time plan to plan!
This is one of those steps that a LOT of my clients overlook but when I tell them, they’re like … oh, duh.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Pick a day and a time to plan
2. Put it in your Google calendar so you’ll get a reminder
3. And when it comes time to plan, use this prompt ⤵️
What are the 5 most important things for me to complete this week?
Write those 5 things down, assign one to each day & get to work on #1.
I know what you’re gonna say: “OMG, I have SO much more to do than just 5 things.”
I know. this is the crux of your overwhelm problem ⤵️
When you plan, you get so caught up in trying capture EVERYTHING.
That you overwhelm yourself and do nothing.
Your reasonable 50 point to-do list that’s overwhelming you by 9am ain’t cutting it.
Overwhelm will have you getting less done, always.
Focus on your top 5.
Complete those things, one at a time.
When you’re done with those things, pick 5 more.
Repeat.
This will keep you out of overwhelm and getting more done, more easily.
P.S. Feeling overwhelmed by the first thing you need to complete? This isn’t a problem, it’s normal. It’s just a sign that t’s time to make it even easier. Here’s what I mean ⤵️
1. Imagine getting ready to do that thing …what would be THE very first thing you’d do?
2. Write that down instead & get started.
3. If you hit another stuck point, repeat 🤍
Happy planning!
